Leptosporosis transmission
Skin, mucosal contact from urine contaminated water
Preservation for urine culture

Lactobaccili
Found in vagina, produce H2O2, grow on glycogen secretions
Staph epidermidis
Can colonize the tip of the urethra causing a contaminated catch.
How does one obtain a clean catch?
Tip of urethra is cleaned with a sterile wipe, a stream is formed and then 15-50ml is caught for a good enough suspension to test. No squamous epithelial cells.
