What are some normal causes of Oliguria?
-Restricted access to water
-Increased environmental temperature causing excess loss through the repiratory system.
What are some abnormal causes of Oliguria?
-Acute Nephritis
-Fever
-Shock
-Heart Disease
-Dehydration
What are some causes of Anuria?
- Complete Urethral Obstruction
- Urinary Bladder Rupture
- Renal Shutdown
What are some clinical signs that accompany polyuria?
-Pale or light yellow urine
- Low specific gravity
- Polydipsia (increased thirst)
What are some pathologic causes of Polyuria?
-Nephritis
-Diabetes Mellitus
- Diabetes Insipidus
- Pyometra
-Liver disease
What meds can cause polyuria?
Diuretics, Corticosteroids, and Fluids
What usually accompanies colorless urine?
Low usg and polyuria
What usuallu accompanies dark yellow- brown urine?
High usg and oliguria
What causes yellow-brown to green foamy urine
bile pigments
What is the usual cause of red- red-brown urine
RBC/ hematuria
hemoglobin/ hemoglobinuria
What is a possible cause of brown urine
myoglobin/ myoglobinuria usually indicates muscle lysis
