I am aware that in the first few days a graft takes its nutrients from the host bed, a process called imbibition. To enable this I would ensure excellent haemostasis to avoid haematoma and reduce infection (plus abx), quilting of the graft to reduce shearing, and bed rest/dressings to reduce both the above. This would then help the graft establish it’s own blood supply, a process called inosculation.
