Evaluation
To evaluate, it is clear that the Industrialisation and Urbanisation of Britain was the most significant factor in the growth of democracy in Britain. This is because on the backdrop of Industrialisation and Urbanisation, it allowed for the growth of other factors which pushed for democracy such as political pressure groups, as well as Trade Unions and other views represented by the working classes. This is seen with **historian Eric Hobsbawm argues that socio-economic change “provided a firm lodging for the British working class within industrial society.” **
