Rural-urban migration, expanding cities, population increase.

What problems does this cause for cities?
Overcrowding, lack of jobs and houses, spontaneous settlements.
What problems does this cause for countryside?
Little rural investment, older people live in rural area, continued poverty.
Why do poorer countries have serious waste disposal problems?
Can’t afford to remove waste, people don’t have the organisation like roads to, and the is too much waste to control.
What’s the problems with increased car use?
Pollution, traffic and accidents.
What is it called when people move out of cities away from the CBD?
Counter-urbanisation
What’s the effect on villages of counter urbanisation?
Higher population, demand for housing, housing prices go up causing people to move away leaving shops to decline
