What is Urban change?
More than half of the world’s population now live in urban areas
The increasing percentage of a country’s population living in towns and cities is called urbanisation.
What is a megacity?
A city with more than 10 million people living it it.
What are some push factors?

soil erosion making farming difficult.

What are some pull factors?
more opportunities e.g education/work/medical.

entertainments
What is natural increase?
When the birth rate is higher than the death rate due to young people (aged 18-35) living in cities and having more children.
Name some countries where there is an increasing population.
central Africa, south East China and South America.
name some countries with a lower rate of population.

Jobs.
good standard of living in rural and urban areas.

Many manufacturing companies.
Why does urban growth happen faster in LIC?
Because of rural to urban migration.
