In South-East England. It is alongside the Bristol Channel and has the river Avon running through it

- Migration: Bristol is home to many motorways and an international airport.
- Industry: Bristol is extremely important to England’s trading. It has the Bristol Channel as well as it’s airport
- Tourism: Bristol is the world’s 8th largest tourist destination, showing how it is responsible for a lot of England’s travel income.
What are 3 key places that make Bristol so attractive?
- Bristol Harbourside: contains lot’s of activities as well as history
- Cabot Circus: huge employment opportunities, provides accommodation and provides leisure activities and day trips
- Bristol Rovers Stadium: a guaranteed audience of locals and tourists and exposure for Bristol
How is Bristol becoming more sustainable?
Bristol has introduced an urban living strategy, which implemented cycle lanes across the entire city. This addressed issues of poor health, CO2 emissions, unsafe streets and unreliable traffic
How has regeneration happened in Bristol?
- Harbourside: Regenerated housing and entertainment, while still keeping the historical factor. This area is along the river in central Bristol, so is ideal for tourists.
- Temple Quarter: This is the derelict area surrounding the Bristol train station. This was regenerated so that people entering Bristol by train were given a good impression of the area. It provided around 16,000 jobs and 4,000 homes.
How is Mumbai’s location significant?
It is located on a peninsular, giving it a natural harbour, also known as the “Gateway to India”. This allows it to be ideal for trade, it is responsible for 25% of India’s trade.
How is Mumbai significant to India?
It is located on the Western Coast of India, it’s international links include Cape Town, Hong Kong, Colombia and New York, as well as it’s internal link to New Delhi. It also contains India’s largest slum: Dharavi.
What are the key facts of the Dharavi slum?
It is located on the Western coast of India in the Maharashtra state. Almost 1 million people live in 1sqkm. A majority of the slum is built on wasteland, with limited water, housing and sanitation.

What was the Dharavi Redevelopment scheme?
A $2 billion scheme that would move people living in slums into apartments. The idea of this was to give them a cleaner and better sanitised environment, however there was a significant lack of communication meaning it didn’t go to plan, and majority of people disagreed and had their lives endangered.
