A

Origin: posterior surface of scapula below spine
Insertion: greater tubercle on posterior side of the humerus
Action: external rotation, horizontal abduction, and extension of the glenohumeral joint. Stabilization of the humeral head in the Glenoid fossa.
Innervation: suprascapular nerve (c5,c6)

Supraspiantus

A

Origin: medial 2/3 of the supraspinatus fossa
Insertion: superiority on the greater tubercle of the humerous
Action: abduction of the glenohumeral joint. Stabilization of the humeral head in the Glenoid fossa
Innervation: suprascapular nerve (C5)

Teres Major

A

Origin: posteriorly on the inferior 1/3 of the lateral border of the scapula and just superior to the inferior angle.
Insertion: medial lip of the inter tubercle groove of the humerus just posterior to the insertion of the latissimus dorsi
Action: extension, internal rotation, and adduction of the glenohumeral joint
Innervation: lower Subscapular nerve ( c5, c6)

A

Origin: entire anterior surface of the Subscapular fossa
Insertion: lesser tubercle of the humerus
Action: internal rotation, adduction, and extension of the glenohumeral joint. Stabilization of the humeral head in the Glenoid fossa.
Innervation: upper and lower Subscapular nerve (C5,C6)

Trapezius

A

Origin: upper fibers- base of skull, middle fibers- spinous processes of the seventh cervical & upper 3 thoracic vertebra, lower fibers- spinous processes of 4th-12th thoracic vertebrae
Insertion: upper fibers- posterior aspect of the lateral 3rd of the clavicle, middle fibers- medial border of the acromion, lower fibers- triangular space at the base of the scapular spine
Action: upper- elevation of the scapula, upward rotation & extension & rotation of the head at the neck, middle-elevation, upward rotation, and adduction of the scapula, lower- depression, adduction, and upward rotation of the scapula
Innervation spinal accessory nerve & branches of C3,C4

Deltoid

A

Origin: anterior- anterior lateral third of the clavicle, middle- lateral aspect of the acromion, posterior- inferior edge of the spine of the scapula
Insertion: deltoid tuberosity on the lateral humerus
Action: anterior- abduction, flexion, horizontal adduction, and internal rotation of the of the glenohumeral joint; middle- abduction of the glenohumeral joint; posterior- abduction, extension, horizontal abduction, and external rotation of the glenohumeral joint
Innervation: axillary nerve (C5,C6)

A

Origin: surface of the upper nine ribs at the side of the chest

A

Origin: posterior crest of the ilium, back of the sacrum, & spinous processes of the lumbar and lower 6 thoracic vertebrae (T6-T12), slips from he lower three ribs
Insertion: medial lip of the intertubercular groove of the humerus
Action: adduction, extension, internal rotation and horizontal abduction of the glenohumeral joint
Innervation: thoracodorsal nerve (C6, C8)

Pectoralis Major

A

Origin: upper (clavicular head)-medial half of the anterior surface of the clavicle, lower (sternal head)- anterior surface of the costal cartilages of the first 6 ribs and adjacent portion of the sternum
Insertion: flat tendon 2 or 3 inches wide to the lateral lip of the intertubercular groove of the humerus
Action: upper-internal rotation, horizontal adduction, flexion 60 degrees,abduction (after 90 degrees) & adduction (below 90 degrees) of the glenohumeral joints; lower- internal rotation, horizontal adduction, & adduction & extension of the glenohumeral joint
Innervation: upper-lateral pectoral nerve (C5-C7)

A

Actions: Flexion of the fingers and the wrist and weak flexion of the elbow
Innervation: median nerve (C7, C8, T1)

Action: flexion of the four fingers and the wrist

A

Costal margin, lumbar fascia, anterior two thirds of iliac crest and lateral half of inguinal ligament
INSERTION
Aponeurosis of posterior and anterior rectus sheath and conjoint tendon to pubic crest and pectineal line
ACTION
Supports abdominal wall, aids forced expiration and raising intra-abdominal pressure. Conjoint tendon supports posterior wall of inguinal canal
NERVE
Anterior primary rami (T7-12). Conjoint tendon ilioinguinal nerve (L1)
