Violacious mass at the base of the tongue. Worse with URI.

Tx?
Lingual thyroid: ectopic thyroid from failure of thyroid to descend.
Tx: Give thyroid hormone to shrink it
Cleft tongue, hypoplasia of nasal alar cartilages, medial cleft of upper lip, asymmetric cleft of the palate, finger malformations, mild mental retardation
OFD1 (oral-facial-digital syndrome type I)
X-recessive
Lobulated nodular tongue, conductive hearing loss, cleft lip, high-arched palate, hypoplasia of mandible, polydactyly, syndactyly
Mohr Syndrome
Infant (newborn or months old) with Down Syndrome has “croup.” It is not responsive to rac epi. What is another diagnosis?
Subglottic stenosis
In a patient with a laryngeal web, you must rule out this underlying genetic disorder.
DiGeorge
Infant born in severe respiratory distress, unable to cry. You try to intubate, but are unsuccessful despite seeing the larynx.
Tracheal agenesis
Very rare. Infants die shortly after birth
Racemic epi is not relieving stridor.
Tracheal stenosis
Newborn with heart failure.
CXR: pulmonary veins appear to go to IVC
