What is embezzlement?
Theft or misappropriation of funds or property that is lawfully placed in one’s trust or belonging to one’s employer.
What is bribery?
Bribery is the offering, giving, receiving, or soliciting of any item of value to influence the actions of an official or other person in charge of a public or legal duty.
What is a kickback/facilitation fee?
A form of negotiated bribery in which a commission is paid to the bribe-taker in exchange for services rendered or to speed up an administrative process.
What is blackmail?
Blackmailing is a situation that arises when a person unjustifiably threatens another person to make a gain—most commonly money or property—or cause loss to another unless a demand is met.
What is money laundering?
Money laundering is the process by which criminals disguise the original ownership and control of the proceeds of criminal conduct, making such proceeds appear to have derived from a legitimate source.
What constitutes theft?
A person commits theft if he unlawfully and intentionally appropriates movable property with the intention to permanently deprive the person entitled to the possession of the property.
What is forgery?
Forgery is the process of making, adapting, or imitating objects, statistics, or documents with the intent to deceive for the sake of altering public perception or to earn profit by selling the forged item.
What is nepotism and favouritism?
The practice among those with power or influence of favoritism shown to family, relatives, or friends, especially by giving them contracts or a job.
What is perjury?
Perjury is the unlawful and intentional making of a false statement by a person who has taken the oath or made an affirmation.
What is conspiracy?
Where a person conspires with any other person to aid or commit any offence.
What is robbery?
Robbery is theft of property by unlawfully and intentionally using violence or threats of violence to take the property.
What does receiving stolen property entail?
A person commits this crime if he unlawfully and intentionally receives into his possession property knowing, at that time, that it has been stolen.
What is incitement?
Instigating and/or commanding any other person to commit a crime.
What is mismanagement?
Managing badly, wrongly, or recklessly.
What is negligence?
The lack of proper care or attention.
What is incompetence?
Not qualified or able to function at a standard as expected.
