What is Separation of Personnel?
The same individuals do not serve in multiple branches of government (e.g., the president cannot also be a member of Congress).
What is Separation of Constituency?
Different branches represent different groups of people (e.g., Congress represents districts/states, the president represents the whole nation).
What is Article 1 in the Articles of Confederation?
Article I of the Constitution outlines the powers and structure of the legislative branch (Congress), including the creation of laws, regulation of commerce, and power to declare war.
What is the House of Representatives?
House of Representatives: Elected to represent the people based on population (435 members). They serve 2-year terms and have a more direct connection to public opinion.
What is the Senate?
Senate: Represents states equally (100 members). Senators serve 6-year terms, with staggered elections to ensure more stability and longer-term thinking.
