What is the Central Nervous System?
The Central Nervous System is where sensory impulses pass through the brain and spinal cord.
What is the Skeletal System?
The Skeletal System is the system of bones in the human body that provides support, protection, and movement.
What is the Circulatory System?
The Circulatory System is the system of blood vessels and organs that transports blood to all the cells in the body.
What is the Vascular System?
The Vascular System keeps fluids moving throughout the entire system, maintaining a moist (aquatic) environment for all cells.
What is a Ball-and-Socket Joint?
A Ball-and-Socket Joint is where the rounded end of one bone fits into the cup of another bone. It allows movement in two directions, in addition to rotation, and is the most versatile joint in the human body.
What is a Hinge Joint?
A Hinge Joint is where two bones meet, allowing movement in one direction. This joint can flex (close) and extend.
What is a Gliding Joint?
A Gliding Joint is where two bones meet, allowing limited movement in two directions but not rotation.
What is Xylem in plants?
Xylem are the hollow tubes of a plant that transport water and mineral nutrients to all of a plant’s cells.
