Unithellular Organisms Flashcards
What is a Prokaryote?
Cytoplasm surrounded by a cell membrane and a cell wall
What is a Eukaryote?
Cells that have cell membrane, cytoplasm and genetic material in a nucleus
What is a Unicellular organism?
Made up of one cell, not a plant or animal cell.
What are the 4 types of unicellular organisms?
Amoeba
Bacteria
Euglena
Fungi
How does a amoeba eat and reproduce?
they surround particles of food, and forming a food vacuole.
They split themselves into two cells
What does a Euglena contain?
Cytoplasm, nucleus, chloroplast
How does a Euglena eat and reproduce?
They eat bacteria and algae by engulfing.
They split into two cells.
What can bacteria do?
Have tails to swim in any liquid
Have different shapes and forms.
Can live anywhere
How does fungi move and reproduce?
They donβt move but they spread spores
They move from the wind and spores turn into fungi over time
