Proper posture
Lean slightly forward
Let arms hang loosely from shoulders.
Elbows slightly higher than keys.
Bench must face the keyboard squarely
Feet flat on the floor
Curved fingers (four good reasons for playing with curved fingers)
When the fingers are curved each finger has in effect the same length.
Curved fingers bring the thumb into the correct playing position.
With curved fingers key respond instantly you are in control when you curve.

Bar line
Divide the music into measure of equal duration.

Music divided by bar lines into segments of equal duration
Double bar line
used to end a piece.
Treble clef
Clef for right hand notes on the piano/clef for higher pitches.
Whole note
a very long note 4 count
Bass clef
Clef for the lower pitches and left hand
Grand staff
The Bass Staff and Treble staff joined together. Tells the musician to play both clefs at the same time.
Bracket/brace
Joins together the Bass Staff and Treble Staff to form grand staff.
