unit three - device specifications considerations Flashcards
1
Q
mobility considerations
A
one needs to consider the versatility needs of the user
2
Q
mobile employee device considerations
A
- wiresless internet capabilities; including wifi and mobile data access
- battery life; around 8-10 hours
- weight; light and portable, ideally around 1kg
- trackpad or touch inputs; difficult to use external peripherals (keyboard or mouse) when not at desk
3
Q
mobile employee specifications
A
- mobile employees perform light work in mobile situations, therefore don’t require a very powerful processor
- they only require a satisfactory amount of RAM (4gb) to perform their tasks
- moderate sized screens as a large screen will reduce portability and usability
4
Q
examples of mobile ideal devices
A
- microsoft surface pro
- apple macbook air
- apple ipad pro
5
Q
design/gamer considerations
A
gamers and high performance designers, require computers with high processing power but little mobility in their devices.
6
Q
designer/gamer device considerations
A
- powerful multi core processors; enough to adequately meet user performance needs
- lots of RAM; around 10gb or more
- high performance networking; ethernet ports, wireless and thunderbolt capability
- large screen size; external high quality monitors of around 27 inches
- high performance graphics cards; around 2gb
7
Q
designer/gamer forgo features
A
- battery life; they will be stationery for majority of its use
- weight; also will be just be stationary and wont be moved around.
8
Q
client business user
A
they would have desktops connected to a main high performance server, which means they dont require a high level of performance
9
Q
client hardware requirement
A
- adequate screen screen size
10
Q
client users can forgo these features
A
- mobility; the device would be stationary for majority of its use
- fast processor; only requires an adequate processing speed to process transmissions from client server to desktop
- weight; ideally it should be small but is not an issue
