A

The fifth Amendment is….

A

No person can be forced to testify against himself of herself. (Self incrimination- “pleading the Fifth”). No one can have life, Liberty, or property taken away by the government without “due process of law” (fairness). No person can be tried twice for the same crime (double jeopardy). No person can be charged for murder without indictment by a grand jury. Establishes the public use, but the property owner must be fairly compensated.

What is the sixth Amendment?

A

Guaranteed a speedy and public trial, the right to a trial by an impartial jury, by a jury of ones peers. The right to confront witnesses and to have legal representation- fair- a lawyer has to be provided.
