(1378 - 1455) Pelago, Italy. Renaissance sculpture. “The Gates of Paradise” for the cathedral of Florence are considered one of the greatest masterpieces of Italian art.
Albrecht Durer
Painter, printmaker, and theorist of the German Renaissance. Altarpieces, woodcuts, portraits, self-portraits, and copper engravings. Most famous for his “Apocalypse” series of woodcuts.
Leonardo da Vinci
(1452 - 1519) Leading figure of the Renaissance; painter, sculptor, architect, and engineer. “The Last Supper” and the “Mona Lisa”.

PIero della Francesca
Early Renaissance mathematician and geometer. Fresco cycle “The Legend of the True Cross” and diptych portrait of Frederico da Montefeltro, Duke of Urbino.
Raphael
Master painter and architect of the High Renaissance. Best known for his “Madonna” series and rooms in the Vatican.
Masaccio
First great Italian painter of the Quattrocento. Short career but had a deep influence on others. Used techniques such as linear perspective, the vanishing point, and chiaroscuro.
