sprain grade one
Definition: small circular tears within ligament
S/S: minnamial pain, weight bering, full ROM(with some pain)
Treatment: RICE 24hr
sprian grade two
Definition: partial tear of ligament
S/S: medium pain, non weight barring, limited ROM
Treatment: RICE (3-5 days), cruches (3-5 days), motion and strength exercises
sprain grade three
Definition: complete tear of ligament
S/S: extereme pain, non weight barring, no ROM
treatment: RICE and imobilization (weeks), surgery, motion and strength exercises
inversion ankle sprain
Definition: damage to anterior talofibular ligament
movement: adduction
s/s: pain with all movement, discoloration and swealing lateral side
treatment: with sprain grade
eversion ankle sprain
definition: damage to anterior talofibular ligament
movement: abduction
s/s pain with movement, discoloration and swealling medial side
treatment: with sprain grade
sydesmotic sprain (high ankle sprain)
definition: damage to the inferior tibofibular ligament
movement: dorsiflextion
s/s: pain with movement, minamal swealling/discoloration anterior superior foot
treatment: with sprain grade
medial tibial stress syndrome ( shinsplints)
definiton: damage to tibalus anterior mucles
mothion: microtrauma
s/s: pain with preasure/movement, point tneder, swealling
treatment: ice and heat message, minimal exericses, technique corretion
