data
an event related to how the world and universe work.
Phenomenon
any representation of a sytem,or its componets,to help one study and understand how it works.
model
the imaginary line around which an object spins,or rotates. Earth rotates around an axis that runs straight through earth from the north pole to the south pole.
axis
the phase of the moon in which the lit protian of the moon visible from the earths surface is less that half-circle (cresecnet shape). Cresecnt moons occur right after and right before the new moon.
Crescent moon
an imaginary circle that divides earht into two havles called the northern hemisphere and southren hemisphere.
equator
the phase of the moon, occurring about seven days after the new moon,in which the lighted portion of the moon thatb is visble from earths surface is a half-cicrle.
first-quater moon
the phase of the moon that occurs about 14 days after the new moon in which the compelete lighted portion of the moon is visble from earths surface&appears as a full circle.
full moon
a pahse of the moon before or after it is full, when more than half of disk is illuminated.
gibbous moon
the phase of the moon that occurs about 7 days after the full moon in which the lighted porttion of the moon that is visble from earths surface is a half-circle.
last-quarter moon
the revoltion of the moon around earhts that producers the chaging phases of the moon. One complete lunar cycle takes about 29.5 days.
lunar cycle
the phase of the moon, occuring about 14 days after the full moon,in which none of the lighted portion of the moon is visble from earths surface.
new moon
another term for revolution.
orbit
consistent with evidence.
plausible
a complete circle made by a plantet around a sun or by a moon around a planet (orbit)
revolution
to travel around another object in a circler or elliptical path.
revole
to turn or spin around an axis.
rotate,roation
the phase of the moon when the illuminated portion visble from earhts is decreasing. (between the full and new moon.
