the imaginary line around which an object spins, or rotates. Earth rotates around an axis that runs straight through Earth from the North Pole to the South Pole.

the phase of the moon in which the lit portion of the moon visible from earth’s surface is less than half a circle . Crescent moons occur right after and right before the new moon
Equator
an imaginary circle that divides Earth into two halves called the northern and southern hemisphere
full Moon
the phase of the moon, occurring about seven days after the new moon, in which the lighted portion of the moon that is visible from Earth’s surface and appears as a full circle
