v. 1. to make/become less in value
The clothes depreciate once they’re considered “last season.”
2.to represent as little value, to belittle
I depreciate the work Fred does.
facet
n. 1. any of the small, flat surfaces on a precious stone made by cutting
The jeweler cuts the stone, leaving beautiful facets.
2. one of the many sides or aspects of something
I decided to ignore the fact that there was probably a facet of the situation I wasn’t considering and continued to be angry.
facsimile

impervious
adj. 1.incapable of being penetrated
The army base is guaranteed by the president to be impervious.
2. Not affected or disturbed by
I act as though I’m impervious to the insults hurled at me, but really they hit me hard.
nondescript
adj.hard to describe because of lack of distinctive qualities or features.
Plain Sally was as she sounds, nondescript.
quandary
n.A state of being in doubt about what to do.
I was in a quandary after she bullied my friend.
repose
v. 1. to lie at rest
I reposed after Field Day.
2. to place(power, etc.) in some person or group
Luckily, the company reposed all their trust in me.

scintillate
v.to flash or sparkle
The camera scintillated and almost blinded me.
adj. Lively or witty
I have a scintillating personality
scrutinize
v.to examine with great care
I scrutinized the diamond closely, it wasn’t as expensive as I wanted.
