How can you determine if a statement is a fact or an opinion?
1 –Ask yourself, can the statement be proven?

Why is it important to know the difference between facts and opinions?
- People often use facts and opinions to persuade you to believe what they believe, do something, or not do something.
- You need to know if a person is using facts or opinions to support his or her ideas.
