Biotic
The living factors in an ecosystem.
Abiotic
The non-living things in an ecosystem.
Commensalism
A symbiotic relationship in which one organism is helped and the other is not affected.
Competition
A relationship that occurs in which two or more species need the same resource at the same time.

A community (all of the living organisms) and the abiotic factors that affect them.
Habitat
The place where an organism lives.
Host
The organism that is harmed by the parasite.
Parasite
The organism that is benefiting from the parasitic relationship.
Mutualism
A symbiotic relationship in which both organisms benefit.
Niche
The role of an organism in its environment.
Parasitism
A symbiotic relationship in which one organism benefits and the other is harmed.
Predator
The species that feeds on another organism.
Prey
The organism that is eaten.
Stable ecosystem
An ecosystem in which population numbers of each organism, the supply of resources, and the amount of energy fluctuates at a predictable/constant rate.
Symbiotic relationship
This exist between organisms of two different species that live in direct contact with each other or in a close relationship with each other.
