The point where trees no longer grow on a mountain

Because wood is a valuable resource timber companies must reforest or plant trees to replace the trees they cut down.

lava is on the surface, magma is underground

Rainy on the other side of the mountain, dry on the other. Clouds dump precipitation as they rise over a mountain. When they reach the other side, they have no more moisture
