What is Humanism?
Humanism is a way of thinking and doctrine that developed in the beginning of the Modern Age when Europe was suffering many changes, after the final develop it was important for the interpretion of Art, Science, Technology… Thomas More, Antonio de Nebrija and Erasmus of Rotterdam were important humanists.
Which were the principles of Humanism?
The principles were Antropocentrism (They didn’t reject religion but they thought that the human brain was important for the world interpretion), Individualism (To defend own work and rights), reason and experience (For the interpretion of important events of our history), Greek and Roman arts (For going back on time) and the use of vernacular languages.
Why did Humanism spread?
Humanism spread thanks to universities, academies, letters, travels and books (thanks to Gutenberg).
What is Renaissance?
Reinaissance is an artistic movement that developed at the end od the Middle Ages and at the beginning of the Modern Age in Italy. It’s divided into two stages, the Quattrocento (15th Century) and Cinqueccento (16th Century).
Which were the main purposses of Renaissance?
Humanism and to idealize human beauty were the main purposses.
Who helped the artists?
Patrons who lived in the city-states of Italy helped the artists.
Which were the purposses of the architecture in the Renaissance?
To build civil and religous buildings with proportion, classical elements, harmony…
How was Italian architecture in the Reinassance?
Italian architecture during Quattrocento was done in Florence and during Cinquecento by Rome.
