An outpouring of God’s gifts that enable us to live a Christian life. The traditional gifts of the Holy Spirit are wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel, fortitude, piety, and fear of the Lord.

Perfections that result from living in union with the Holy Spirit. They are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, modesty, self-control, and chastity.

describe the Trinity
The dogma of the Blessed Trinity is a mystery in the strictest sense, that is, a mystery of God himself.
What are examples we can use to explain the Trinity? Be able to draw and label.

The Holy Spirit revealed Himself to Moses in the burning bush and in the clouds that led the people through the desert / Helped Israelites keep the Law.
How is the Holy Spirit present in the Gospels? (Be able to explain 1 example well).
Led Jesus into the desert then sustained him in his battle with Satan / Jesus makes it clear that the Holy Spirit will not reveal something NEW to the Apostles and their successors but will help them understand what Jesus revealed to them.

Originally, a Jewish harvest festival celebrated fifty days after Passover.
What were the physical signs of the Spirit?
Strong driving wind, tongues of fire, and the ability to speak in different languages.
What happened to the Apostles afterward?
Transitioned from hiding together to speaking to the crowd; they could all speak to each other.
When do Catholics celebrate Pentecost?
50 days after Easter and 10 days after the Ascension of the Lord.

The grace to see how God is working in our lives, especially in the areas of great moral decisions

Helps us to form our conscience in light of Church teaching
Fortitude
Strength to follow our own convictions
Piety (Reverence)
Respect we show to the Lord through praise and worship
Fear of the Lord (Wonder and Awe)
Helps us show concern about the reality of sin in our life, and to avoid anything that might alienate us from God and others
