What is Malware?
Software that aims to harm computers and/or data
What is Phishing?
Emails that pretend to be from legitimate companies but actually try to gain personal information
What is Social engineering?
Deception to gain personal information?
What are Brute force attacks?
Trying all possible passwords until the correct one is found.
What are Denial of service attacks?
Flooding a server or network with pointless requests so that it fails or slows down.
What is Data Interception and theft?
-Stealing data or intercepting it
-With a man-in-the-middle attack.
What is SQL injection?
Using web forms to add SQL instructions to a query that cause data loss or the revealing of personal information.
Name 6 methods of physical security.
CCTV
Intruder alarms
Locks on doors or cabinets
Fences, walls, barbed wire

Name 6 features of a firewall.
-Prevents attackers from gaining access to computers on a network.
-Can block certain malicious computers by filtering packets from a certain IP address.
-Can prevent access to certain ports on the network.
-Malicious or inappropriate websites can be blocked.

What is the User interface in an OS?
A method of the user interacting with the computer – windows, icons, menus, pointers, drag/drop – can be GUI, menu interface or command line interface.
What is Memory management in an OS?
Manages programs and data stored in RAM, frees up memory when a program is closed.
What is Multitasking in an OS?
Running two or more programs at once.
What is Peripheral management and drivers in an OS?
The management of devices such as mice and printers.
What is User management in an OS?
Management of usernames and passwords along with what they have permission to access.
What is File management in an OS?
The organisation of files on storage drives.
