Mexico demanded that the Texans give up all their weapons, including a small cannon they had with them. Texans made a flag that said, “Come and Take it”, and fired the cannon at the Mexican Soldiers. The Mexican soldiers retreated.

On March 5 Santa Anna’s troops decide to attack at dawn. On March 6, 1836, Santa Anna sent 1,800 soldiers to attack, their troops attacked in three waves, and the third wave managed to breach the walls.
