States can now choose to either be slave or free
Slavery can now spread, and fugitive slaves were also passed
What was the Emancipation Proclamation?
It was a speech given by Abraham Lincoln that abolished slavery only in the Rebelling States
It also made the war all about slavery
What was the Gettysburg Address about?
It was a speech by Abraham Lincoln:
“Of the people, by the people, for the people.”
It was a war for the nation to keep the union
What was the Mexican War about?
It was a fight for the land right by the Rio Grande River
James K. Polk grabbed the land

It was an American belief that we should own the land from the Atlantic to the Pacific

It was a deal made in congress to make Rutherford B. Hayes president
What was the Underground Railroad?
It was a secret route that helped slaves escape north and it was an abolitionist led movement
What was the Seneca Falls Convention about?
It was the women’s rights movement
So when women couldn’t join the abolitionist meeting, they decided to push for their own rights.
What was the Dred Scott Decision?
It was a Supreme Court case in 1857
It nullified the Missouri Compromise
Slavery expanded legally

It’s when you withdraw from the union
It was a start of confederate states
