History
Belief System
The combination of principles, beliefs, and ideas in a culture that form the base of a religion or philosophy. Some examples are Greek philosophy and Hinduism.
Doctrine
The beliefs of a group of people often related with religious or cultural purposes that the people live by and practice.
Monotheism
A religion where the people worship only one god, an example is Christianity.
Pantheon
When a religion worships multiple gods, this is the name for the collective group of them or the place where they are worshiped such as a temple or shrine.
Polytheism
When a religious group beliefs in multiple gods and worships them such as Hinduism.
Animism
In many African cultures and others this is the belief that spirits or souls can exist on their own or are carried by an animal, or an object.
Caste system
The cultural system that determines where your status will be by your birth compared to your skill set.
Convert
To persuade or change the beliefs of a person in order to bring them to a new understanding, religion, or culture
Diaspora
Where people from the same people group are dispersed or scattered over a large distance usually due to change, oppression, or new rulers.
Persecute
Where a group or person is forced to endure suffering from another person or people group that usually involve mistreatment, violence, or even punishment. A classic example of this are the Jews during WWII.
