A speech Lincoln gave. To remember the people that died during the battle of gettysburg.

15,000 people attended the speech. The speech took less than 2 minutes long.

The Repbulicans loved Lincolns speech Democrats disliked it. It was given in November in 1863.

James Monroe was the president. The missouri compramise happend in 1820.
What was the cause of the Missouri Compromise? Why did they have to add 2 states?
Missouri was admitted to the union as a slave state. Maine was then added as a state a free state. To keep the North and South balanced.

Meaning that slavery should be up to the state. That the rule was unconsitutinal.

The republican party was formed in 1854. There were then 3 partys.

Abraham Lincoln won the 1860 election. Slavery was the main issue in this election.
Why did many southern democrats not support Lincolns- Douglas party? Why was this an very important election for america?
Because lincoln did not have a pro slavery campaign. Because there were lots of thoughts on slavery.
