Jose Bernardo Gutierrez de Lara traveled to the United States in 1811 to get help freeing Texas from Spanish rule. He met Augustus Magee and together they created the Republican Army of the North.
What was the result:
General Arredondo, the Spanish overwhelmed the Republican Army. They were all killed during the battle or executed after it.
Texas remained under Spanish control for another seven years.
