A

They are a specific type of proverb

They are stylised didactic prose. Stylised because they are embedded in metaphoric language and didiac because of their relevance to teach.

Riddles mould language of the child. It involves figurative language and are so memorable for them to use.

Riddles stimulate the mind through thinking observing imagining comparing and assimilating things.
