What is integrity?
a core moral value which ensures that we consistently uphold the behaviours we want to exhibit in our personal and professional lives
What is the universalation test?
if the action or rule would work well for everyone and lead to good results, then it passes the universalisation test and is considered morally acceptable
What is utilitarianism?
the most ethical decision is the one which will do the greatest good for the greatest number of people, within reason

What does CISI stand for with regard to ethical decisions?
Clear - have I told any lies
Impartial - if everyone aware of the consequences
Straightforward - is any party unknowingly advantaged/disadvantaged
Informed - have I considers my customer’s interests
How to check suitability of a product?
call a sample of customers to independently verify their understanding of the products or service they have taken up, why it was suitable for them and the risks/costs/charges involved

the correlation between ethics and ‘the bottom line’

The retention of high quality staff

Whats the difference between a code of conduct and a code of ethics?
A code of conduct will usually set out rules and guidance for individuals to adhere to
A code of ethics will also generally be aspirational, encouraging adherence to values which are above and beyond normal standards
