what is parliament?

where laws are made, also referred to as ‘statutes’ or ‘legislation’
-monarch (king/queen) = only formal role, gives royal assent

what are the lords?
A
members of the house of lords (peers), used to be a hereditary position

A
most important part of parliament because its made of elected representatives of the people

A
to run the country. the government is formed by the political party that has majorty of the 650MPs.
