The set of rules that defines how data is transferred between
our devices
Protocol
The addressing protocol that allows senders to find receivers that
they want to send data to on the internet
IP
a computer system that runs on the Internet
World Wide Web
specialized computing devices that store lots and lots of data
Servers
The address used by the IP addressing protocol to
determine where a computing device is on the Internet
IP Address
A measure of how quickly data can be downloaded over an internet connection. Measured in mbps
Download speed
A measure of how quickly data can be uploaded over an internet connection. Measured in mbps.
Upload speed
A computing device that sends and receives data between other
devices.
Router
A uniformly sized chunk of data that will be sent over the
internet
Packet
Information that can identify
an individual (e.g., address, phone number, IP address).
Personal Identifiable Information (PII)
A virtual network that protects
information from unauthorized access.
VPN (Virtual Private Network)
A intentional lie used for either personal gain or to damage
another individual
