Two Party Sytem
two main parties tend to emerge with minor parties typically splitting votes away from the most similar major party
Democratic Party
One of the two major parties, generally considered liberal, supports a larger government in economic issues
Republican Party
One of the two major parties, they advocate in stuff like limited government, reduced government spending, etc.
Nominate
Propose or formally enter as a candidate in an election or for an honor award..
Campaign
An organized effort used to try to get people to do or like something for example, launching a campaign to help get votes for a candidate.
Ideology
A certain ethical set of ideas used to help or represent something like a symbol
Third Parties
Any other party that is not one of the two major parties
Political Platform
Outlines goals to help get voters or more supporters
Election
To select something or someone for something or also getting elected yourself
Political Spectrum
The range of a persons view on government or politics
Public Policy
A choice that government makes in response to a political issue
Conservative
Belief in a limited government, traditionalism, Republicanism, etc.
Liberal
Moral philosophy based on the rights of indivisual,liberty
Moderate
someone occupying any mainstream position avoiding extreme views
Media
Any media organization that is directed or controlled by the state
Editorial
a newspaper or magazine article that gives the opinions of the editors or publishers
Op-ed
short newspaper column that represents the strong, informed, and focused opinion of a writer
Bias
To favorite one prefer one thing over another
PAC
An organization that pools campaign contributions
Super PAC
A committee that gains unlimited contributions from an individual
Political Party
organization whose nominated or selected candidates for federal office appear on the ballot as the party’s candidates
Citizen United v FEC
A case in which the Court held that corporate funding of independent political broadcasts in elections cannot be limited under the First Amendment.

Must be 18 or older, be a citizen of the United States, not currently be declared incapacitated by a court.
