wives and children were beaten and/or neglected.
programs began at school to make the younger generation more aware of the dangers of drinking.
their ultimite goal was to stop the sale of alcohol.
women realized that until they had the right to vote, the government would not listen to their concerns.
this led to the movement for women to gain the right to vote.
