Length is:
how long something is.
Width is:
how wide something is.
Height is:
how high/tall something is.
When making a mesurment always place the object at:
1 cm.
When you are done mesuring remember to:
subtract 1 cm.
Forumla for area:
length x width (A = L x W)
When solving for area: Step 1: step 2: step 3: step 4: (give yourself a problem to solve, see if you do it correctly)
write down the given values
write the fomrula
put the substituions into the formula
Answer the equation
Remeber to also include the small number at the top of the unit, depening on how many times you see the unit in the equation. E.g 3.0 mm x 3.0mm = 9.0mm^2
Relatioship between cubic cms and milliliters
1.0 cm^3 = 1.0ml
Volume by displacement:
You have 50.0 ml of water.
You place a marble in the water.
The water rises to 75.0 ml.
What is the volume of the marble?
The volume of the marble is 15.0 ml.
