Limiting Reactant

A

The reactant that runs out first in a reaction. After it is all used up, no more product can be formed and the reaction is over. It is not necessarily the smallest amount of moles, the smallest ratio between the moles and the coefficient.

A

A

The maximum amount of product that can be formed in a reaction.

How to find Theoretical Yield

A

separate calculations for each compound Reactant in the problem. Take the amount of moles given and use a mole ratio to convert it to the product specified. Repeat with the other compounds. The smallest value is the theoretical Yield because that Molar value is the limiting Reactant (Smallest=gets used up)
