what is a Prepositional phrase fragment?
A fragments that begins with a preposition ( in, near, by around ) and ends with a noun/pronoun
what is a Participle phrase fragment?
A fragment that looks like a verb but acts like an adjective
What is a infinitive phrase fragment?
A fragment that is made up of the word “to” and then a verb
What is an appositive phrase fragment?
A word in a fragments that comes after/before the word it identity ( no verb and no adjective)
What is a run-on
two or more sentences incorrectly written as a single sentence
What is a declarative sentence
Makes a statement or expresses an opinion (.)
What is an interrogative sentence
Asks a question (?)
What is a imperative sentence?
Makes a request or gives a command (.)
What is an exclamatory sentence?
Expresses strong feeling (!)
What is a simple sentence?
Consists of one independent clause
What is a compound sentence?
Has two or more independent clauses
Ex: Henry laughed at the joke, and then the comedian told another one
What is a complex sentence?
Has one independent clause and one or more dependent clause(s)
What are fragments?
A group of words that lacks a complete thought and is therefore an incomplete sentence
