Nation
People who have a shared heritage, belief/values, claim, space and desire for one state
Nation State
Country with most people of the same ethnicity (90% + of population)
Single nation of people that fulfill the qualifications for a state.

Multistate
A nation that has a state of its own but stretches across borders and state
Autonomous Region
Defined area within a state that self governs and freedom from parent state. Granted authority: Culturally/Ethically distinct.

The right and power to govern its territory without interference over its internal affairs from outside states.

Concept that people have the right to govern themselves.
Colonialism
Attempt by one country to establish settlements and impose their will on political, economic and cultural principals in another territory.
Imperialism
A policy extending a country’s power and influence through diplomacy or military force to enforce political, economic and cultural principles on another territory.
Neocolonialism (economic imperialism)
Domination of newly independent countries by foreign businesses interests that makes colonial style economies to continue.

Transfer of power from central to region gov or subnational govs.
