What is the symbolic meaning of the “Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil?”
The tree on knowledge of good and evil = taking God’s place deciding what is good or evil
3) Define Evil
-The lack of good that should be there.
Active Will:
What someone, or God directly causes.
Passive will
What God allows.
5) Sin principles/stages of sin:
Temptation, Attitude of Sin, Act of Sin, Consequence

Sin is always partially good
Attitude of Sin
Sin is the fruit of a diseased attitude.
Act of Sin
Sin missing the mark of goodness
6) Know the basic story of Noah.
- God chooses the rightest man, and he builds an ark for every animal for 40 days and 40 nights while everything else is flooded. God makes a covenant with Noah and it’s a rainbow.
Consequence
Sin is its own punishment
7) Compare Noah and the Epic of Gilgamesh
- Similarities= 1 person saved, flood, Birds.
- Differences= Motivation for flood and saving, The Gods in Gilgamesh thought the
problem of Evil

- The devil made a lot of bad things happen to Job and to turn him against God but it didn’t work and he was still faithful to God.
