Syllable stress
A
- Duration of vowel will be longer than the same vowel in a non stressed syllable
- The stressed syllable has a longer duration, higher pitch, frequency7, and amplitude

A
- The straight tube has a narrow wide band
- If you bend the tube, the bandwidth will get wider and amplitude will go down

A
- More absorbent you have, the wider the band width, the lower the amplitude

- If the tube gets shorter, formants get higher
- Rounding the lips makes the tube longer

- Results in wider bandwidth
- If it gets too wide, speech becomes unclear but too narrow causes unnatural sound
