What is sacred stories?
Literary forms such as legends, myths, parables, and folklore that relate to a believed truth
What is belief?
Religious ideas and concepts held to be true
What is texts?
- Oral and written literature
- Record the essential parts of a religious tradition e.g. beliefs and stories
What is spaces, places, times and artefacts?
Refer to things that have become sacred to the religion
Space for trinity: church which celebrated
What is ritual?
A set of actions that have symbolic meaning and are considered sacred
What is symbol?
Signs, objects, actions or places that represent a special religious meaning or power
What is a social structure?
- Established social model to which society conforms
- Religious leadership usually at or near the top
What is ethics?
The study of how and why people make decisions about human behaviour, including key values
What is secular society?
Non-religious society
What is a rite of passage?
Baptism, Eucharist, confirmation: entering into Christian society, being purified
