UNIT 3 AOS 1 MARKING SCHEME Flashcards
Interrelationship of the dimensions of H&W
(Using a student that broke leg)
The interrelationship between the dimensions of h&w can be seen in the example of a student who breaks a leg. The student would not be able to function effectively, which would have a detrimental effect on their physical h&W. Not being able to do daily activities, such as getting from one class to another, may cause them to get upset over things they wouldn’t normally; for example, having to wait in a queue; perhaps causing pain and distress, which can impact emotional h&w. Knowing they are frustrated and upset about things that they would normally find easy may negatively impact their mental h&W, due to decreased confidence in dealing with school. This could mean not attending school, which could reduce the strength of their relationship with peers, thus negatively impacting social h&W. This lack of relationships at school may decrease the feeling of connectedness with school (Negatively impacting spiritual health). As a result, once they are ready to return to school (confidence on crutches) They may experience some anxiety about how people will treat them (negatively impacting mental h&w).
SPECIFIC DIMENSION = RELATE BACK TO 1st ONE
Benefits
When it comes to answering questions, one of the best ways to approach health as a resource individually, nationally, and globally is through income and taxation as this can apply to all three. If we look at the way they can all affect each other:
- INDIVIDUALLY:
Citizens can use the money for their own benefit (Gym membership, nutritious food, whatever makes the most sense to you) and a portion of all income will be taxed - NATIONALLY:
The more the money, the more tax the government can obtain to use on things like parks, roads and healthcare systems
GLOBALLY: If income is used on healthcare, people are less likely to develop communicable diseases which have the potential to spread from country to country, reducing the likelihood of disease outbreaks.
Explain the importance of pursuing optimal h&w as an individual/national/global resource (2 marks)
Mark allocation
