Explain how the organised state worked in Mapungubwe and what is was called
Tribute system: farmers paid tribute to local chiefs who in turn paid tribute to the king (like tax). In exchange the king looked after them in times of drought or war
How was copper made?
Rock containing the metal was heated at very high temperatures so the metal would separate from the rock. The metal was then heated again and beaten into shape

Arrowheads, adzes, chisels and axes
What is an adzes?
It is a tool for smoothing and carving wood

Cattle
How did cattle make a man wealthy?
Cattle could be exchanged for wives, wives give children, children could look after cattle and work crops. The crops and cattle could be used for further trading making him wealthy

It’s a place of importance to all people of the world
