feeling horror or disgust at something unpleasant or wrong
e.g. We were appalled by the poverty and starvation we saw everywhere.
apprehensive
worried or afraid that something unpleasant may happen
e.g. I’m feeling apprehensive about tomorrow’s test.
astonished
very surprised
e.g. I was astonished by the decision.
ecstatic
extremely happy
e.g. I was ecstatic when my sister had her first child.
commitment
being prepared to give a lot of your time and attention to something because you believe it is right or important
e.g. I admire her commitment to the basketball team.
feel blue
to be sad or unhappy
e.g. He’d been feeling blue all week.
hostile
having very strong feelings against somebody/something
e.g. He is very hostile to change.
hysterical
very excited and unable to control your emotions
e.g. She was hysterical with grief.
necessity
something that you must have
e.g. Clean water is an absolute necessity.
numb
not able to feel anything; not able to move
e.g. My fingers were numb with cold.
itchy
making you want to rub or scratch your skin
e.g. My skin is all itchy.
rapidly
very quickly
e.g. The quality of her work progressed rapidly.
