Unit 2.2.4 Fallibility of Visual Perception Flashcards
1
Q
Fallibility
A
The quality of being prone to error or experiencing difficulties in judgement
2
Q
Visual illusion
A
- Illusion
- Created by a misinterpretation (distortion or mistake)

- Designed to create the visual illusion that it is rectangular
- For an observer viewing the room through the peephole
5
Q
Ames room - explanation

A
- Commonly associated with brain lesions in the parietal, temporal or occipital lobes
- Different forms/types associated with different areas of damage
- Apperceptive: having problems with processing perceptions
- Associative: no problems with processing perceptions
