uses blog that has videos, images and articles. majority of posts shared via social media platforms to help widen their audience. some things shared nearly 1000 times, shows blog can be effective in raising awareness to the public

websites such as facebook and twitter which are dedicated to allowing people to communicate with one another
list advantages of social networking
allows videos, information and other forms of communication to spread quickly and reach a wide audience. approximately 2.3 billion people use social media, so a campaign will raise a great deal of awareness in a short space of time and a very-cost effective way
list disadvantages of social networking
hackers can get onto the network pages and alter info, possibility of internet trolls who send upsetting messages that can deter people from using the sites
how is the ice bucket challenge an example of social networking to promote a campaign
used to raise money and awareness of ALS disease. posed on facebook and other sites, requesting people to pour a bucket of ice cold water on their head and nominating others to do the same. people would donate money to see this happen, raising $115 million by the end (effective)
define tv advertising
span of tv programming that are produced and paid for by an organisation to convey a message or market a produce or service
list advantages of tv advertising
usually very effective use of moving imagery and sometimes include music that fits with the product or campaign
can make issues more memorable for the audience through celebrity endorsement to seize their attention
reach wide audience due to number of viewers, especially during prime-time slots
list disadvantages of tv advertising
can be extremely expensive to make (costing 1000s), increased cost if scheduled for a prime-time slot
many people skip adverts if a programme is watched on catch up or simple ignore them if they are not interested in the content
sometimes can be quite graphic with death occurring in a horrific way, may upset younger/vulnerable viewers who may be concerned or associated with the topic (having a negative effect on the campaign)
how is wateraid an example of tv advertising used to promote campaigns
allowed 2 million people to receive safe water and 3.1 million people in india provided with sanitation in their villages. supported by actors of downton abbey who posed with water bottles to raise funds for the charity as previously a promotional picture for the show had mistakenly been taken with a plastic water bottle in the background (modern day object in period drama). picture used to raise awareness of issue and donate to wateraid.

may be shown on a news programme which increases publicity, allowing more people to become aware of the campaign
often involves well known celebrity attending, helping raise awareness of the campaign.

list disadvantages of events
things not going according to plan (people may not attend or watch in the numbers anticipated). may need funding before the event can take place
how is children in need an example of events used to promote campaigns
yearly fundraising event is very effective. by providing an evening of tv entertainment and raising an awareness of the issues, a large sum of money has been raised. 2020 amounted to £37 million

involve promoters attending an event to talk in public to raise awareness of the aims of the campaign

personal approach and a realistic touch to the campaign, which generates public interest and support. info provided will be informative and true to life
list disadvantages of public appearances
reluctance of some people to appear and speak in public. cannot generate interest and a following, the campaign is unlikely to be successful. people attending may be unsupportive or even disruptive

printed materials that contain info about a campaign
list advantages of leaflets
contact numbers or link to social media to allow readers to contact them or donate. a great deal of info including pictures so readers can get a full insight of the campaign. do not rely on technology such as the internet, which may not be accessible to all
list disadvantages of leaflets
may contain too much info so reader may be reluctant to spend a long time reading and therefore be put off donating funds. may be expensive to print and can be easily ignored and thrown away
